How to use SIRVs

SIRV RNA is spiked into samples prior to RNA Extraction, or into total RNA prior to pre-processing or library preparation. The amount of SIRV RNA to add to each sample depends on three things:

  • the total RNA input amount,

  • type of library preparation method used, and

  • the intended fraction of SIRV reads to be detected in the final sequencing output.
