Can I store SIRV dilutions for further use?
No. SIRV dilutions should be considered as single-use only and should not be freeze-thawed.
We do not recommend storing SIRV dilutions as the risk of degradation and adsorption to the tube increases over time, even with optimal storage at or below -20 degrees Celsius.
For this reason we recommend to aliquot the SIRV stock solutions upon first use into 1 ul volumes, and store at or below -20 degrees until needed.
Best practice is to prepare and use SIRV dilutions immediately before use, keeping the stock and dilutions continuously on ice, and using careful RNase-free handling technique, to minimize the risk of degradation.
Please see the SIRV User Guides for specific guidelines for handling SIRV dilutions.
